National grouch day falls on the 15th October every year. It is to celebrate the feeling of being imitable and grumpy! It was inspired by the character of Oscar the SesameStreet.

The character in Sesame Street is green, fuzzy and he truly loves trash. As a National Grouch Day grew in popularity, Sesame Street was appreciative of the idea and began to connect with it. And now the day is gleefully celebrated by people all over the world, whether in relation to Oscar the Grouch or simply poking fun at those people in their lives who are a little bit on the grumpy side.

Celebrating National grouch day doesn’t have to take a whole lot of effort especially for those who are rather cantankerous anyway!

The first way to celebrate is to act grouchily. It will be fun to make grouchy faces! Of course the second way is to watch Sesame Street! There will be many funny, fuzzy and adorable characters in it!

If you are in a grouchy mood, you could do something to cheer yourself up, such as going out side and riding a bicycle or doing other exercise. You could also listen to clam music while doing an activity you love.

If you meet Oscar the Grouch, what would you say to him?
